Aaron's Party

Aaron's 3rd birthday party was on Saturday. We had perfect weather and a great turn out. We ended up having around 14 kids and 25 adults. The party was from 10:30 until 12:30. The theme was cars. Aaron has been talking about his party daily for over 2 months. I can't believe it finally arrived. Both Sammie and Aaron had a blast with all their friends. Aaron loved the attention, especially when everyone sang Happy Birthday to him.
We had some friends from Indy come so Aaron went without a nap and played with their daughter throughout the afternoon. He went to sleep that night with all his new cars and a big tired smile on his face! I went to sleep early after a good foot rub from Jeremy(:

Birthday Boy enjoying his Cars cake!
We sat all the kids outside for eating lunch and cake. Less mess and they had fun at their kid size tables.

The jump 'n slide we got was a BIG hit! The kids did great taking turns and no one got hurt.

We had 5 pregnant mom's at the party. Due from right to left: Alison, Hannilee, Katie, Me, and Becky! Just wait until next years party(:

Aaron is 3

Birthday Boy!
I can't believe that at 7:02pm Aaron officially turned 3. These past few years have gone by so fast. I can't believe how much he has grown up in the past year.

He now recognizes most of the alphabet, can count to 10 and has an incredible memory. He is so helpful and able to do so much from going to the potty by himself to helping me make cookies and helping Jeremy wash the car. He's not scared to try new things from petting various animals to climbing various obstacles at the park.

He tells us if he is happy or sad or excited. In the past year he has flown on a plane, driven a boat and helped daddy drive the car up the driveway. He took swimming lessons and loves to practice what he's learned in Mema and Papa's pool.

He loves getting new books from the library (especially if they have anything to do with the Cars movie) or getting a new Curious George DVD.

His favorite foods are chicken salad, watermelon, onions, licorice and McDonald's hamburger happy meal with apple juice.

He will play with his die cast Cars for hours and enjoys throwing the football and running through the sprinkler.

He is fun loving and very affectionate.
I love you Aaron with all my heart!
Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

Silly Sammie

Had to post this pic of Samantha from yesterday. She loves stuffed Bob! She enjoys giving him hugs and kisses, hitting his face and sitting on his lap.

I will post more today because Aaron is 3 today!!

Mini Road Trip

Yesterday Jeremy was off due to the Fourth landing on a Sunday. We decided to take a little road trip and test out our mini van. After breakfast we packed easily in the van and headed up to South Bend for half the day. On the way up the kids watched "Cars" on the DVD screen. We went to the Potawatomi Zoo and then picked up Jeremy's Gram (95) for a fun lunch at McDonald's. The zoo had a few animals we don't have at the Fort Wayne one (Bison, Alpaca, White Tiger, Prairie dogs.) Unlike on past zoo trips Aaron rode in the stroller and Sammie was the one walking around everywhere. We enjoyed our time but were ready to leave after seeing all the animals. the kids were hot and hungry.
We picked up Gram and the kids both turned on their charm! Aaron was excited about sitting next to Gram and telling her about cars. Sammie was Gram's new best friend once she started feeding her french fries.
We headed home around 1:30 and the kids slept most of the way home. It was so hot when we got home we took a quick dip in my parents pool to cool off before calling it quits for the day.

Fourth of July

Happy 4th from the Fort Wayne Vance's!
Today was a nice day. We had a relaxing morning then after naps headed to my parents house for swimming and a cookout. It was hot and humid most of the day but towards evening a nice breeze entered the picture and it felt great to sit outside and visit while watching the kids swim and play in the sandbox. I think Sammie dumped half the sand in the sandbox on herself!
Aaron's shirt had fire works on them so all day every time he heard one he would say"Firecracker just like on my shirt!"

Haircuts and Putt Putt

Thursday Samantha got her first haircut. She did really well and sat in my lap the whole 5 minutes it took to trim it! When I tried to get her picture that night she would not sit still until she situated herself in this puzzle box then looked up at me and said "Cheese!" Too funny!Samantha, Bri, Korban, Aaron and Miranda

This morning we met Jeremy's brother's and family at putt putt for some golf fun then lunch at
Rick and Suzy's later. It was beautiful weather and everyone had a good time. I got two hole in ones but stunk up the rest of the round. Lunch was fun as well. The kids ate quickly then enjoyed jumping on the trampoline and playing catch with their cousins. A good start to a long weekend!
